We've set out to build Saltroad to address the hidden pandemic that is the exponential increase in children who need support with their speech, language and communication.

As many as 1 in 5 children in the UK may need help from a Speech and Language Therapist today (over 2 million kids), but existing services and service delivery models haven't scaled with this demand, and fall well short of meeting the needs of families today.

Our NHS service is at breaking point, with waiting lists upwards of two years, limited opportunity for intervention, and a frustrated workforce.

The private sector is a postcode lottery due to an uneven distribution of a limited number of private therapists, ever-increasing waiting lists and costs, and a lack of transparency on service quality and price.

But we believe that, given a little support, the right technology and a touch of service innovation, the SALT workforce can address these challenges ourselves.

We don't need to wait around for the Government or "someone else" to fix things.

We're in this profession to have a positive impact on as many families as possible. Over the last few years, it's probably felt a lot more difficult to do that.

We hope to fix that.
